ITINERARY:

Day 1
Travel to Chinchilla for an overnight stay.
Day 2
Visit the Charleville Bilby Experience, including an engaging keeper talk and a view of the nocturnal bilbies. Overnight stay in Charleville.
Day 3
Arrive in Longreach for a 2-night stay.
Day 4
Tour Longreach, including the Stockman Hall of Fame and the Qantas Founders Museum, featuring guided tours of the Boeing 747 flight deck and more. Free time in the town.
Day 5
Travel to Winton, home to the Australian Age of Dinosaurs and its vast fossil collection. Explore the Royal Open-Air Theatre, and enjoy lunch at the Historic North Gregory Hotel, where Waltzing Matilda was first performed. Overnight in Winton.
Day 6
Continue the journey through Hughenden before arriving in Charters Towers for an overnight stay.
Day 7
Enjoy a local tour of Charters Towers, including the Venus Gold Battery. Arrive in Townsville for a 2-night stay.
Day 8
Cruise to Magnetic Island, exploring the World Heritage Marine Park. Tour Townsville’s Strand promenade, parklands, and Tobruk Memorial Pool.
Day 9
Travel through Ayr and Bowen, visiting the Big Mango, before arriving at Airlie Beach, the gateway to the Whitsundays. Overnight in a tropical landscaped setting (2-night stay).
Day 10
Embark on a Whitsundays Cruise aboard an air-conditioned catamaran, visiting Hamilton Island in the Whitsunday Passage.
Day 11
Depart Airlie Beach and travel south along the Bruce Highway, stopping at scenic towns before arriving in Rockhampton for an overnight stay.
Day 12
Visit Agnes Water and the Town of 1770, named after Captain James Cook’s landing in May 1770. Enjoy this seaside settlement before staying overnight in Maryborough.
Day 13
Today we are homeward bound as we depart Maryborough.
