BUNDABERG & HERVEY BAY WHALE WATCHING

Travel up the Bruce Highway as we make our way to the Eumundi Markets featuring handmade arts, crafts, fashion, gourmet food, fresh produce with live music and street performers before making our way through to Bundaberg, 2 nights stay.

Today we will visit Mon Repos Turtle Centre, Turtle Tales Immersive Experience within the Turtle Centre includes interactive display and theatre. Then on to Hinkler Hall of Aviation in the botanical gardens, also Bert Hinkler House (relocated English home). Visit Fairymead House a grand plantation house that includes the sugar museum. Local Bundaberg region tour.

Time to relax before Bundaberg Distillery and Museum, tasting included. This afternoon we visit Childers, then on to Maryborough. 3 nights stay.

Our Hervey Bay Cruise aboard a fast modern and very comfortable catamaran allows plenty of viewing to get up close and personal with the world’s most magnificent creatures. Hervey Bay provides the natural playground for thousands of majestic Humpback Whales. Afternoon Hervey Bay tour.

Another tour highlight is the “Mary Valley Heritage Rattler” we will board at Amamoor station where we will travel through the Mary Valley on the fully restored heritage steam train from the early 1920’s. Arriving at the Old Historic Gympie Station. Afternoon tour to Tin Can Bay.

Having some free time to enjoy the Maryborough Markets with entertainment at the Town Hall Green. Then on to Pomona, another tour highlight, “The Majestic Theatre” is rare as it’s one of the few pre-World War II picture theatres remaining in Queensland. Experience a timeless cinematic journey as we enjoy a private silent film screening.
